Sigan, pues, buscando primero el reino y la justicia de Dios (Mat. 6:33).
Jesús promete que si hacemos esto, las cosas que de veras necesitamos nos serán añadidas. ¿Cómo demostramos que creemos en esta promesa? Una manera es siguiendo las justas normas divinas en cuestiones económicas. Por ejemplo, somos exactos en la declaración de impuestos y no decimos mentiras, por pequeñas que sean, en nuestros tratos comerciales. Hacemos todo lo posible por cumplir con nuestras obligaciones económicas. En lo que tiene que ver con pagar las deudas, tenemos presente lo que dijo Jesús: “Signifique su palabra Sí, Sí” (Mat. 5:37; Sal. 37:21). Si somos así de honrados tal vez no nos haremos ricos, pero recibiremos la aprobación de Dios, tendremos una buena conciencia y muchas menos inquietudes. Para buscar primero el Reino debemos tener nuestras prioridades bien establecidas, así evitamos que los bienes y placeres se conviertan en nuestros amos. Más bien, ellos nos sirven a nosotros, pues nos ayudan a adorar a Jehová. Y cuanto más activos estamos en apoyar el Reino de Dios, menos probabilidades hay de que sucumbamos al espíritu del mundo.

Keep on, then, seeking first the kingdom and [God’s] righteousness.—Matt. 6:33.
Jesus assures us that if we do this, the things we really need will be added to us. How can we show that we believe this promise? One way is to abide by God’s standard of what is right as regards financial matters. For instance, we refuse to falsify our tax returns or to tell even “little” lies in our business dealings. We do all within our power to honor our financial commitments, letting our “Yes mean Yes” when it comes to paying off debts. (Matt. 5:37; Ps. 37:21) Such honesty may not make a person rich, but it brings God’s approval, produces a clean conscience, and greatly reduces anxiety. Seeking first the Kingdom involves having our priorities in order, so that possessions and pleasure are not our masters, but are tools that help us worship Jehovah. And the more active we are in work that supports God’s Kingdom, the less likely we are to be overcome by the spirit of the world
