Now when Jesus finished these sayings, the effect was that the crowds were astounded at his way of teaching; for he was teaching them as a person having authority, and not as their scribes.—Matt. 7:28, 29.
Jesus Christ unquestionably proved to be the foretold “Wonderful Counselor.” (Isa. 9:6) The Sermon on the Mount is a prime example of Jesus’ knowledge of his heavenly Father’s way of viewing things. That discourse has much to say about genuine happiness, how to avoid immorality, the way to practice righteousness, what we must do to enjoy a secure and joyous future, and many other matters. Why not read Matthew chapters 5 through 7 once again carefully and prayerfully? Meditate on Jesus’ wonderful counsel recorded there. Apply in your life what Christ said in his Sermon on the Mount. Then you will be better able to please Jehovah, treat others properly, and keep on doing good.

Cuando Jesús terminó estos dichos, el efecto fue que las muchedumbres quedaron atónitas por su modo de enseñar; porque les enseñaba como persona que tiene autoridad, y no como sus escribas (Mat. 7:28, 29).
Jesucristo demostró que era, sin lugar a dudas, el “Maravilloso Consejero” que se había predicho (Isa. 9:6). El Sermón del Monte es un magnífico ejemplo de lo bien que conocía la forma de pensar de su Padre celestial. Ese sermón habla sobre cómo alcanzar la felicidad verdadera, cómo evitar la inmoralidad, cómo practicar la justicia y cómo tener un futuro seguro y dichoso, entre muchos otros asuntos. ¿Por qué no vuelve a leer con atención los capítulos 5 a 7 de Mateo? Tras orar a Jehová, medite en los excelentes consejos que Jesús dio en el Sermón del Monte y esfuércese por ponerlos en práctica. Si así lo hace, alegrará a Jehová, tratará a su prójimo como es debido y hará siempre el bien.
