Sobre ellos haya paz y misericordia, sí, sobre el Israel de Dios (Gál. 6:16).
La nueva nación, “el Israel de Dios”, está constituida por israelitas espirituales (Mat. 21:43; Rom. 2:28, 29; 9:6). Se formó en el Pentecostés del año 33, cuando Dios derramó su espíritu sobre la congregación cristiana. A partir de entonces, cada persona que fuera ungida por espíritu santo pasaría a formar parte de esa nación, que resultó ser el esclavo nombrado por el Amo, Jesucristo. Todos los miembros de dicha nación recibieron la comisión de predicar las buenas nuevas y hacer discípulos (Mat. 28:19, 20). Ahora bien, ¿participarían todos ellos en la preparación del alimento espiritual? No. El apóstol Pablo escribió: “No todos son apóstoles, ¿verdad? No todos son profetas, ¿verdad? No todos son maestros, ¿verdad?” (1 Cor. 12:29). Aunque todos los cristianos engendrados por espíritu predicaban, solo se empleó a ocho de ellos para escribir los veintisiete libros de las Escrituras Griegas Cristianas.

Upon them be peace and mercy, even upon the Israel of God.—Gal. 6:16.

The new nation, “the Israel of God,” is made up of spiritual Israelites. (Matt. 21:43; Rom. 2:28, 29; 9:6) It came into existence with the outpouring of God’s spirit at Pentecost 33 C.E. Thereafter, all spirit-anointed Christians became part of the nation that now served as the slave class appointed by the Master, Jesus Christ. Each member of that nation was given the commission to preach the good news and make disciples. (Matt. 28:19, 20) But was every member of that group to be involved with providing spiritual food at the proper time? No. The apostle Paul tells us: “Not all are apostles, are they? Not all are prophets, are they? Not all are teachers, are they?” (1 Cor. 12:29) Although all spirit-begotten Christians engaged in the preaching work, only a very limited number—just eight different men—were used to write the 27 books of the Christian Greek Scriptures.
