En la re-creación, cuando el Hijo del hombre se siente sobre su trono glorioso, ustedes los que me han seguido también se sentarán sobre doce tronos y juzgarán a las doce tribus de Israel (Mat. 19:28).
Jesús les dijo a los apóstoles que ellos estarían entre los que gobernarían y juzgarían a “las doce tribus de Israel”. ¿A quiénes representan estas doce tribus? A los seres humanos que no tienen la esperanza de ser reyes y sacerdotes en el cielo (1 Cor. 6:2). Cuando habló de “la vida eterna”, se estaba refiriendo a la recompensa que recibiría todo el que lo siguiera (Mat. 19:29). Todo esto sucederá “en la re-creación”. ¿Qué quiso decir Jesús con el término “re-creación”? Puesto que usó el término sin dar ninguna explicación, por lo visto se estaba refiriendo a una esperanza bien conocida por los judíos desde hacía siglos. En el futuro se produciría una “re-creación”, o restauración, de las condiciones en la Tierra, de modo que todo volvería a ser como en el jardín de Edén, antes de que pecaran Adán y Eva. Esa “re-creación” cumplirá la promesa de Dios de “crear nuevos cielos y una nueva tierra” (Isa. 65:17).

In the re-creation, when the Son of man sits down upon his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also yourselves sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.—Matt. 19:28.

Jesus told his apostles that they would be among those who would rule as kings and judge “the twelve tribes of Israel,” that is, the world of mankind outside that heavenly ruling class. (1 Cor. 6:2) He also spoke of a reward for “everyone” who follows him. Such individuals too “will inherit everlasting life.” (Matt. 19:29) All of this is to take place “in the re-creation.” What did Jesus mean by “the re-creation”? Since Jesus used the term without explanation, he evidently referred to what had been the Jewish hope for centuries. There was to be a re-creation of conditions on earth, so that things would be as they were in the garden of Eden before Adam and Eve sinned. The re-creation will fulfill God’s promise of “creating new heavens and a new earth.”—Isa. 65:17.
