Llegué a estar a su lado como un obrero maestro, y llegué a ser aquella con quien él estuvo especialmente encariñado (Pro. 8:30).
Debemos tener presente que Jesús no fue quien determinó que se realizara el sacrificio redentor. Quien lo determinó fue Jehová, pues dicho sacrificio era esencial para que se cumpliera su voluntad. El apóstol Pablo indicó que el altar de los sacrificios del templo representaba la voluntad de Dios (Heb. 10:10). De modo que es sobre todo a Jehová a quien debemos agradecer nuestra liberación, pues dicha liberación solo fue posible por su voluntad (Luc. 1:68). Además, es una muestra de su gran amor por la humanidad (Juan 3:16). Él y su Hijo habían pasado juntos en el cielo millones o incluso miles de millones de años. El “obrero maestro” trabajó con alegría al lado de su Padre y le sirvió de vocero; así es, fue “la Palabra” (Pro. 8:22, 31; Juan 1:1). No podemos imaginar lo que Jehová tuvo que soportar mientras veía cómo atormentaban a su Hijo, se burlaban de él y lo ejecutaban como si fuera un criminal. ¡Qué precio tan alto tuvo que pagar para liberarnos!

I came to be beside him as a master worker, and I came to be the one he was specially fond of.—Prov. 8:30.
Jesus was not the Originator or Purposer behind the ransom sacrifice. Rather, this means of deliverance was a key feature of Jehovah’s will. The apostle Paul indicated that the altar at the temple, upon which the sacrifices were offered, represented Jehovah’s will. (Heb. 10:10) So the deliverance we receive by means of Christ’s sacrifice is something we owe first and foremost to Jehovah. (Luke 1:68) It is an expression of his great love for humans. (John 3:16) He and his Son had enjoyed associating together for countless millions, perhaps even billions, of years. The Son worked joyously with the Father as his beloved “master worker” and as his Spokesman, “the Word.” (Prov. 8:22, 31; John 1:1) What Jehovah endured as his Son was tormented, ridiculed, and then executed as a criminal is far more than we can know. Our deliverance cost Jehovah dearly!
