La palabra de Dios es viva, y ejerce poder, y es más aguda que toda espada de dos filos, y penetra hasta dividir entre alma y espíritu, y entre coyunturas y su tuétano, y puede discernir pensamientos e intenciones del corazón (Heb. 4:12).
El poder transformador de las Escrituras, así como la ayuda que Jehová da mediante su espíritu, permite a la gente realizar cambios profundos en su vida (Rom. 12:2; Gál. 5:22, 23). Colosenses 3:10 da esta exhortación: “Vístanse de la nueva personalidad, que mediante conocimiento exacto va haciéndose nueva según la imagen de Aquel que la ha creado”. El mensaje de la Palabra de Dios tiene el poder de sacar a la luz lo que la persona realmente es en el interior y de cambiar su manera de pensar y sentir. Además, una vez que adquiere conocimiento exacto de la Biblia y empieza a obedecer las justas normas divinas, puede entablar una amistad con Dios y tener la esperanza de vivir para siempre

The word of God is alive and exerts power and is sharper than any two-edged sword and pierces even to the dividing of soul and spirit, and of joints and their marrow, and is able to discern thoughts and intentions of the heart.—Heb. 4:12.
The transforming power of God’s Word, along with the help that Jehovah provides by means of his holy spirit, enables people to make profound changes in their lives. (Rom. 12:2; Gal. 5:22, 23) Colossians 3:10 says: “Clothe yourselves with the new personality, which through accurate knowledge is being made new according to the image of the One who created it.” The message found in God’s Word, the Bible, has the power to reveal what a person really is on the inside, and it can change the way he thinks and even how he feels about things. By coming to an accurate knowledge of the Scriptures and by conforming his life to Jehovah’s righteous standards, a person can become a friend of God, with the prospect of living forever.
