Jesús no solo nos ha liberado del peso de los errores del pasado, sino que también ha abierto la puerta para que podamos disfrutar de un futuro mejor. Al liberarnos de la esclavitud del pecado, Jesús nos salva de la cólera divina y nos permite tener una amistad estrecha con Dios. La liberación del pecado se traducirá en liberación de la enfermedad y la muerte, que son el triste resultado del pecado. Para imaginarnos mejor lo que experimentaremos cuando llegue ese día que Dios ya ha fijado, piense en lo que sucedió cuando Jesús fue a la casa de un hombre llamado Jairo, cuya hija de 12 años acababa de morir. Él le aseguró a Jairo: “No temas, solo muestra fe, y ella será salva” (Luc. 8:41, 42, 49, 50). Y fiel a su palabra, resucitó a la niña. ¿Puede imaginarse la alegría que sintieron sus padres? Entonces también puede imaginar la infinita alegría que sentiremos cuando “todos los que están en las tumbas conmemorativas” escuchen la voz de Jesús y vuelvan a la vida (Juan 5:28, 29).

He will save his people from their sins.—Matt. 1:21.
Jesus not only rescues us from our past sins but also opens the way for us to enjoy a better future. By delivering them from slavery to sin, Jesus saves his followers from the wrath of God and brings them into a loving relationship with Jehovah. The deliverance from sin that Jesus provides will in due time include freedom from its grim effects—sickness and even death. To visualize what that will mean, consider what happened when Jesus went to the home of a certain man named Jairus, whose 12-year-old daughter had died. Jesus reassured Jairus: “Have no fear, only put forth faith, and she will be saved.” (Luke 8:41, 42, 49, 50) True to his words, the girl rose from the dead! Can you imagine the joy of her parents? Then you have an idea of the surpassing joy that will be ours when “all those in the memorial tombs will hear [Jesus’] voice and come out” in the resurrection.—John 5:28, 29.
