Realmente no sé hablar, pues solo soy un muchacho (Jer. 1:6).
Cuando Jeremías fue nombrado profeta por Jehová, dijo las palabras que leemos en el texto de hoy. Y tiempo después llegó a decir: “No hablaré más en su nombre” (Jer. 20:9). Sin embargo, fue capaz de proclamar un mensaje impopular durante cuarenta años. ¿Cómo lo logró? Gracias a que Jehová le infundió ánimo. De hecho, le reiteró esta tranquilizadora garantía: “Yo estoy contigo, para salvarte y para librarte” (Jer. 1:8, 19; 15:20). Hoy, Jehová nos fortalece igual que a Jeremías para que podamos cumplir con nuestras obligaciones cristianas. El factor clave es aplicar los siguientes consejos bíblicos: “Confía en Jehová con todo tu corazón [...]. En todos tus caminos tómalo en cuenta, y él mismo hará derechas tus sendas” (Pro. 3:5, 6). ¿Cómo demostramos confianza en Dios? Siguiendo la guía que nos brinda mediante su Palabra y su congregación. Si permitimos que él dirija nuestros pasos, nada impedirá que le seamos fieles.

I actually do not know how to speak, for I am but a boy.—Jer. 1:6.
When Jehovah assigned Jeremiah to be His prophet, Jeremiah said the above. Later, he even said: “I shall speak no more in his name.” (Jer. 20:9) Yet, with Jehovah’s encouragement, Jeremiah was able to preach an unpopular message for 40 years. Jehovah repeatedly reassured him with the words: “I am with you, to save you and to deliver you.” (Jer. 1:8, 19; 15:20) Just as Jehovah strengthened Jeremiah, he can help us to do what he expects of Christians today. The key factor is to rely on God. The Bible says: “Trust in Jehovah with all your heart . . . In all your ways take notice of him, and he himself will make your paths straight.” (Prov. 3:5, 6) We reveal that we trust in Jehovah when we avail ourselves of the help he provides through his Word and through the congregation. If we allow Jehovah to guide our steps in life, nothing will prevent us from being faithful to him.
