SPIRITUAL ANOREXIA?

Scriptures in red
DO YOU HAVE SPIRITUAL ANOREXIA?
Spiritual Anorexia — do you have it? The Oxford Dictionary says that anorexia is “an obsessive desire to lose weight by refusing to eat.” Many do not recognise they have anorexia and sad to say they die from it unless they get help. Human beings need physical food to sustain their live as we all know, and they were also created and designed with the need for spiritual food. Lack of this carries a much higher penalty that the physical death of the body. How come?
We are instructed by our Creator that we should take in accurate knowledge of him and his son. Notice what John 17:3 has to say about spiritual food:-
John 17:3 This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ
Now if spiritual food is knowledge about God, his son and his purposes, which is only to be found in the Holy Scriptures (the Bible), how often should we eat this spiritual food? Joshua who saw all the plagues befall
Egypt, the parting of the Red Sea and many more awesome and fear-inspiring miracles performed by God, was told take in spiritual food day and night from the Scriptures:-
Joshua 1:8 This book of the law should not depart from your mouth, and you must in an undertone read in it day and night, in order that you may take care to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way successful and then you will act wisely.
Therefore reasoning on this, here is a man who loved and served the only true God, Jehovah, but was still told to eat spiritual food every day and night. It is the same today; people who don't partake of spiritual meals have spiritual anorexia. However, Jehovah’s Witnesses look forward to gaining everlasting physical life in the near future because they eat spiritual meals regularly, as Joshua did. They imitate the prophet Jeremiah in his way
Jeremiah 15:16 Your words were found, and I proceeded to eat them; and your word becomes to me the exultation and the rejoicing of my heart; for your name has been called upon me, O Jehovah God of armies.
So in conclusion then, have you checked your eating habits lately? Are you doing all you can to benefit yourself by regularly eating spiritual food? Just as the body needs physical food to survive, more importantly it also needs a regular intake of life-giving and sustaining spiritual meals.
Can you survive without them?
ROMANS 15:4 For all the things that were written aforetime were written for our instruction, that through our endurance and through the comfort from the Scriptures we might have hope.
Follow and keep eating.
