La tristeza de manera piadosa obra arrepentimiento para salvación del cual no hay que tener pesar (2 Cor. 7:10).
Supongamos que se le ha pedido que visite a un hermano inactivo. ¿Qué debe hacer si este le confiesa que ha cometido un pecado grave? Es mejor que no trate de ayudarlo por su cuenta. Sugiérale que hable con los ancianos. Si el hermano no quiere hacerlo, usted tendría que seguir las instrucciones bíblicas para estos casos (Lev. 5:1). Así estaría mostrando que para usted son muy importantes tanto el nombre de Jehová como el bienestar espiritual de la congregación. Los ancianos sabrán cómo ayudar a quienes quieren regresar a la congregación y hacer la voluntad de Dios. Claro, quizá se necesite aplicar alguna medida disciplinaria, pero siempre se hará con amor (Heb. 12:7-11). Si el hermano reconoce que ha pecado contra Dios, deja de cometer el pecado y está sinceramente arrepentido, puede estar seguro de que recibirá la ayuda de los ancianos y el perdón de Jehová (Isa. 1:18; 55:7; Sant. 5:13-16).

If you are a mature publisher who has been assigned to help an inactive person, what should you do if he tells you that he has engaged in serious misconduct? Rather than involve yourself further in the situation, recommend that he approach the elders. If he does not wish to do so, you will be showing your concern for Jehovah’s name and the spiritual welfare of the congregation by acting in harmony with divine direction respecting such matters. (Lev. 5:1) The elders will know how to assist anyone desiring to return and live in accord with God’s will. Loving discipline may be required. (Heb. 12:7-11) If the person acknowledges that he has sinned against God, has ceased to engage in wrongdoing, and is truly repentant, the elders will help him, and he can receive Jehovah’s forgiveness.—Isa. 1:18; 55:7; Jas. 5:13-16.
