Soon, Jesus will say to all who falsely claim to serve him:

“I never knew you! Get away from me, you workers of lawlessness.” (Matt. 7:23) Let us, therefore, produce fruitage that honors both the Father and the Son. 

“Everyone that hears these sayings of mine and does them,” said Jesus, “will be likened to a discreet man, who built his house upon the rock-mass.” (Matt. 7:24) 

Yes, if we prove to be real followers of Christ, we will receive God’s favor, and our future will be secure, as if founded on rock!

Dentro de poco, Jesús les dirá a los falsos cristianos:

 “¡Nunca los conocí! Apártense de mí, obradores del desafuero” (Mat. 7:23). A diferencia de ellos, queremos producir fruto que honre al Padre y al Hijo. 

Tenemos muy presentes estas palabras de Cristo: “A todo el que oye estos dichos míos y los hace se le asemejará a un varón discreto, que edificó su casa sobre la masa rocosa” (Mat. 7:24). 

En efecto, si demostramos con nuestra vida que somos verdaderos discípulos de Cristo, recibiremos la aprobación de Dios y nuestro futuro será tan sólido como una casa cimentada sobre la roca.

¿Por qué no ver las Escrituras aquí?

Imagínese que se encuentra atravesando un desierto árido, con mucho calor en pleno medio día, y a usted se le agotó el agua que traía; ahora comienza a sentir ese calor abrasador y comienza a deshidratarse, cae desvanecido y justo cuando esta por desfallecer observa que a lo lejos que se acerca a usted un hombre que trae consigo algo en la mano.

Cuando llega a su lado observa que lo que trae en su mano es un vaso de agua bien fresca, lo nota por lo empañado del vidrio y hasta observa los cubitos de hielo flotando, le dice que se lo va a dar y entonces usted ya agradece con una gran sonrisa, pero el hombre lo arroja justo en medio de su cara: ¿era lo que usted necesitaba? Sí, pero ¿era en la forma en que lo necesitaba? Bueno de la misma manera puede ocurrir si no usamos el “tacto” adecuado a la hora de aconsejar a un hermano. Quizás el consejo (el material) sea lo que necesite el hermano, pero si se lo decimos sin el tacto preciso puede que se lo estemos “arrojando en la cara” y no solo ofenderemos al hermano si no que ahora empeoremos la cosas.

“Existe el que habla irreflexivamente como con las estocadas de una espada, pero la lengua de los sabios es una curación”. (Proverbios 12:18)

“Muerte y vida están en el poder de la lengua, y el que la ama comerá su fruto”. (Proverbios 18:21)

No se venguen, amados, sino cédanle lugar a la ira; porque está escrito: “Mía es la venganza; yo pagaré, dice Jehová” (Rom. 12:19).
El cristiano se mantiene “reprimido bajo lo malo” y trata “con apacibilidad” incluso “a los que no están favorablemente dispuestos”, es decir, a los que se niegan a escucharnos o hasta se oponen duramente a nuestra obra (2 Tim. 2:23-25). Después de aconsejar a sus hermanos que no se vengaran, Pablo les hizo esta exhortación: “Cédanle lugar a la ira”. ¿A la ira de quién se estaba refiriendo? ¿A la nuestra? Claro que no. Él no estaba diciendo que diéramos rienda suelta a nuestra ira, sino que le dejáramos lugar a la ira de Dios. Los cristianos sabemos que no podemos tomarnos la justicia por nuestra mano. El salmista escribió: “Depón la cólera y deja la furia; no te muestres acalorado solo para hacer mal” (Sal. 37:8). Y Salomón aconsejó: “No digas: ‘¡Ciertamente pagaré el mal!’. Espera en Jehová, y él te salvará” (Pro. 20:22).

Do not avenge yourselves, beloved, but yield place to the wrath; for it is written: “Vengeance is mine; I will repay, says Jehovah.”—Rom. 12:19.
Even with “those not favorably disposed” toward our work and our message, including outright opposers, we will keep ourselves “restrained under evil” and act “with mildness.” (2 Tim. 2:23-25) Paul counsels Christians not to avenge themselves but to “yield place to the wrath.” To whose wrath is Paul referring? He could hardly mean that we should give free rein to our own wrath. Clearly, we yield place to God’s wrath. As Christians, we know that it does not belong to us to take vengeance. The psalmist wrote: “Let anger alone and leave rage; do not show yourself heated up only to do evil.” (Ps. 37:8) And Solomon counseled: “Do not say: ‘I will pay back evil!’ Hope in Jehovah, and he will save you.”—Prov. 20:22.

“Do Not Be Loving . . . the World”

 
 “Do not be loving either the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.” (1 John 2:15) The world and its fleshly spirit stand in opposition to Jehovah and his holy spirit. Hence, Christ’s true followers do not merely refrain from being a part of the world. They reject it at heart, knowing that as the disciple James wrote, “friendship with the world is enmity with God.”—Jas. 4:4.
 
 It can be a challenge to heed James’ words in a world that offers countless temptations. (2 Tim. 4:10) Jesus therefore prayed in behalf of his followers: “I request you, not to take them out of the world, but to watch over them because of the wicked one. They are no part of the world, just as I am no part of the world.” (John 17:15, 16) 

Ask yourself: ‘Do I strive to be no part of the world? Do others know my stand on unscriptural celebrations and customs as well as on those that may not have a pagan origin but clearly reflect the spirit of the world?’—2 Cor. 6:17; 1 Pet. 4:3, 4.
 
 To be sure, our Bible-based stand will not win us the world’s favor, but it may arouse the curiosity of honesthearted ones. Indeed, when such individuals observe that our faith is firmly rooted in the Scriptures and involves our whole way of life, they may respond by, in effect, saying to the anointed: “We will go with you people, for we have heard that God is with you people.”—Zech. 8:23.

“No estén amando [...] al mundo”

 
 La Biblia advierte: “No estén amando ni al mundo ni las cosas que están en el mundo. Si alguno ama al mundo, el amor del Padre no está en él” (1 Juan 2:15). Ciertamente, el mundo y su espíritu egoísta están en contra de Jehová y del espíritu santo. Los cristianos verdaderos no solo evitan ser parte de él, sino que lo rechazan con todas sus fuerzas, pues saben que, como dijo el discípulo Santiago, “la amistad con el mundo es enemistad con Dios” (Sant. 4:4).
 
 En la sociedad actual, con todas sus tentaciones, es un verdadero desafío seguir el consejo de Santiago (2 Tim. 4:10). Por eso, Jesús oró así a favor de sus discípulos: “Te solicito, no que los saques del mundo, sino que los vigiles a causa del inicuo. Ellos no son parte del mundo, así como yo no soy parte del mundo” (Juan 17:15, 16). Preguntémonos: “¿Lucho yo por mantenerme separado del mundo? ¿Saben mis conocidos lo que pienso de las fiestas y costumbres que tienen origen pagano o que manifiestan el espíritu del mundo?” (2 Cor. 6:17; 1 Ped. 4:3, 4).
 
 Es cierto que nuestra postura es impopular; no obstante, despierta la curiosidad de las personas sinceras. Muchas de ellas observan que nuestra fe se basa en las Escrituras y que influye en todo lo que hacemos, de modo que se sienten atraídas a la verdad que enseñan los cristianos ungidos. Por así decirlo, les dirigen estas palabras: “Iremos con ustedes, porque hemos oído que Dios está con ustedes” (Zac. 8:23).

¿Por qué no ver las Escrituras aquí?
