El ministerio de Pablo en Éfeso abrió la oportunidad para que el mensaje llegara a más personas. Tomemos como ejemplo las ciudades vecinas de Colosas, Hierápolis y Laodicea. ¿Cómo llevó Pablo las buenas nuevas a dichas ciudades si nunca las visitó? Pues bien, probablemente lo hizo mediante Epafras, quien procedía de esa región (Col. 2:1; 4:12, 13). Aunque la Biblia no lo dice específicamente, tal vez Epafras se hizo cristiano cuando escuchó a Pablo en Éfeso. Más tarde, cuando Epafras predicó en la región de donde era originario, quizá lo hizo en representación de Pablo (Col. 1:7). También es probable que el mensaje haya llegado a Filadelfia, Sardis y Tiatira en los años en que Pablo predicó en Éfeso. Por consiguiente, los ancianos de Éfeso podían dar fe de este comentario de Pablo: “No hago mi alma de valor alguno como preciada para mí, con tal que termine mi carrera y el ministerio que recibí del Señor Jesús, de dar testimonio cabal de las buenas nuevas de la bondad inmerecida de Dios” (Hech. 20:24).

Paul’s ministry in Ephesus resulted in the spread of the good news. Consider Colossae, Laodicea, and Hierapolis, three cities inland from Ephesus. Paul never visited them, but the good news reached them. Epaphras was from that area. (Col. 2:1; 4:12, 13) Did Epaphras hear Paul witness in Ephesus and become a Christian? The Bible does not specify. But in spreading the truth in his home area, Epaphras may have represented Paul. (Col. 1:7) The Christian message may also have reached such cities as Philadelphia, Sardis, and Thyatira during the years Paul was bearing witness in Ephesus. Consequently, the Ephesian elders had ample reason to accept Paul’s comment: “I do not make my soul of any account as dear to me, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received of the Lord Jesus, to bear thorough witness to the good news of the undeserved kindness of God.”—Acts 20:24.
