El tiempo y el suceso imprevisto les acaecen a todos (Ecl. 9:11).
Los tres fieles hebreos que se negaron a inclinarse ante la imagen de oro del rey Nabucodonosor no dieron por sentado que Jehová haría un milagro para proteger su vida (Dan. 3:17, 18). De todos modos, Jehová los salvó de morir abrasados por las llamas de un horno ardiente (Dan. 3:21-27). Tengamos presente, sin embargo, que incluso en tiempos bíblicos, ese tipo de milagros eran la excepción, no la regla. Lo cierto es que muchos siervos fieles de Jehová murieron a manos de sus enemigos (Heb. 11:35-37). Pero ¿podemos asegurar a ciencia cierta que Jehová ha intervenido en alguna situación en particular hoy día? La verdad es que no. Aun así, si alguien cree que Jehová lo ha protegido milagrosamente de algún peligro, sería atrevido de nuestra parte afirmar lo contrario. De todos modos, siendo realistas, hay que reconocer que muchos cristianos fieles han muerto en circunstancias trágicas o a consecuencia de la persecución.

Time and unforeseen occurrence befall them all.—Eccl. 9:11.
The three faithful Hebrews who refused to bow down to King Nebuchadnezzar’s image of gold did not presume that Jehovah would miraculously protect them from physical harm. (Dan. 3:17, 18) As matters turned out, Jehovah did deliver them from the flames of the fiery furnace. (Dan. 3:21-27) Even in Bible times, however, miraculous deliverance was the exception rather than the rule. Many faithful servants of Jehovah died at the hands of opposers. (Heb. 11:35-37) Can we definitively say whether Jehovah did or did not intervene in specific cases today? No. Still, an individual who has escaped a dangerous situation may feel that Jehovah intervened. It would be presumptuous for others to take issue with his feeling. At the same time, we must realistically acknowledge that many faithful Christians have died as a result of persecution or other tragic circumstances.
