Ustedes son la luz del mundo (Mat. 5:14).
Jesús les dijo a sus discípulos que ellos eran “la luz del mundo” y les mandó que hicieran brillar su luz para que así la gente pudiera ver “sus obras excelentes”, es decir, sus buenas acciones a favor del prójimo. Su luz brillaría “delante de los hombres”, iluminando espiritualmente a la humanidad (Mat. 5:16). Hoy en día, nuestra luz resplandece cuando ayudamos en lo que podemos a nuestros vecinos y cuando colaboramos en la labor de evangelización que se lleva a cabo “en todas las naciones”, sí, “en todo el mundo” (Mar. 13:10; Mat. 26:13). ¡Qué gran honor tenemos! Jesús no quería que sus discípulos ocultaran su luz bajo una “cesta de medir”; su luz espiritual debía brillar sin estorbos de ningún tipo (Mat. 5:15). Por eso, nunca permitamos que la oposición o la persecución hagan que ocultemos las verdades bíblicas, que dejemos de hablar de ellas

You are the light of the world.—Matt. 5:14.
Jesus told his disciples that they were “the light of the world” and urged them to let their light shine so that people might see their “fine works,” or good deeds to others. This would result in spiritual illumination “before men,” or for the benefit of mankind. (Matt. 5:16) Today, we let our light shine by doing good to our neighbors and by sharing in the work of preaching the good news “in all the world,” that is, “in all the nations.” (Matt. 26:13; Mark 13:10) What a privilege we enjoy! Jesus did not want his disciples to hide their spiritual light under a figurative measuring basket. (Matt. 5:15) So we must let our light shine, never permitting opposition or persecution to make us hide Scriptural truth or keep it to ourselves
