Los ojos de Jehová están sobre los justos, y sus oídos están hacia su ruego (1 Ped. 3:12).
Durante la última parte del asedio de Jerusalén por los babilonios, Jeremías estuvo preso en el Patio de la Guardia. ¿Cómo obtendría el alimento? Dependía por completo de los hombres que estaban a su alrededor, la mayoría de los cuales lo odiaban. No obstante, Jeremías confiaba en Dios —quien le había prometido cuidarlo— y no en los hombres. ¿Cumplió Jehová su palabra? Claro que sí, pues se encargó de que el profeta recibiera diariamente “un pan redondo [...], hasta que todo el pan de la ciudad se agotó” (Jer. 37:21). Jeremías, al igual que Baruc, Ébed-mélec y otros fieles, sobrevivió a ese período de hambre, enfermedad y muerte (Jer. 38:2; 39:15-18). ¿Le infunde seguridad saber que los ojos de Jehová velan por su bienestar? En tal caso, no deje nunca de caminar con él, sin importar lo que depare el futuro. Tenga la certeza de que Jehová siempre mantendrá sus ojos paternales sobre los que le sirven lealmente (Sal. 32:8; Isa. 41:13).

The eyes of Jehovah are upon the righteous ones, and his ears are toward their supplication.—1 Pet. 3:12.

During the latter part of the Babylonian siege of Jerusalem, Jeremiah was imprisoned in the Courtyard of the Guard. How would he obtain food? He was totally dependent on those around him, most of whom hated him! Still, Jeremiah trusted not in men but in God, who promised to care for him. Did Jehovah live up to his word? Absolutely! He saw to it that Jeremiah daily received “a round loaf of bread . . . until all the bread was exhausted from the city.” (Jer. 37:21) Jeremiah, as well as Baruch, Ebed-melech, and others, survived that time of famine, disease, and death. (Jer. 38:2; 39:15-18) Do you feel safe and secure in knowing that Jehovah’s eyes are upon you for your good? Then, continue walking with God—no matter what the future may hold. We can be sure that Jehovah will always keep a close, fatherly eye upon all his loyal ones.—Ps. 32:8; Isa. 41:13.
