Continuó sujeto a ellos (Luc. 2:51).
Debido a nuestra imperfección, los seres humanos tendemos a sentirnos superiores a los demás cuando recibimos autoridad. ¡Pero qué diferente es Jesús! Aunque desempeña un papel clave en el cumplimiento del propósito de Jehová, nunca ha habido en él ni el más ligero rastro de altivez. Pues bien, Jesús tenía el incomparable honor de morar en la presencia de su Padre celestial. No obstante, voluntariamente “se despojó a sí mismo” de esa gloria (Fili. 2:5-7). Dios transfirió su vida a la matriz de una virgen judía, donde se desarrolló durante nueve meses hasta nacer como un indefenso bebé. Creció en el hogar de un humilde carpintero; allí dio sus primeros pasos y pasó su infancia y su adolescencia. Durante toda esa etapa de su vida estuvo sujeto a sus padres, quienes, a diferencia de él, eran imperfectos. ¡Qué humildad tan extraordinaria!

He continued subject to them.—Luke 2:51.
When imperfect humans are given authority, they often develop an inflated sense of their own importance. How different it was with Jesus! Despite his key position in the outworking of Jehovah’s purpose, Jesus was free of even the slightest hint of haughtiness. Jesus enjoyed the glorious privilege of dwelling in his Father’s heavenly presence, but he willingly “emptied himself.” (Phil. 2:5-7) His life was transferred to the womb of a Jewish virgin, there to develop for nine months until he was born as a helpless infant in the household of a lowly carpenter. In Joseph’s house, Jesus gradually grew to be a toddler, a little boy, and then a teenager. He was sinless. Yet, throughout his youth he remained subject to parents who were imperfect sinners. What extraordinary humility!
