Para que la gente sepa que tú, cuyo nombre es Jehová, tú solo eres el Altísimo sobre toda la tierra (Sal. 83:18).
Hace algunos años, una mujer se sentía profundamente angustiada debido a una desgracia acaecida en su vecindario. Como había nacido en el seno de una familia católica, acudió al sacerdote de la parroquia en busca de ayuda, pero él ni siquiera quiso recibirla. Así que la mujer le suplicó a Dios: “Aunque no sé quién eres [...], sé que estás ahí. ¡Por favor, déjame conocerte!”. Poco tiempo después recibió la visita de los testigos de Jehová, quienes le proporcionaron el consuelo y el conocimiento que estaba tratando de encontrar. Entre otras muchas cosas, le enseñaron que Dios tiene nombre, y que dicho nombre es Jehová. Aquello la impresionó mucho: “¡Imagínese —dijo—, era el Dios al que anhelaba conocer desde niña!”. Muchas personas han vivido una experiencia parecida. Con frecuencia ven el nombre de Jehová por primera vez cuando leen Salmo 83:18.

That people may know that you, whose name is Jehovah, you alone are the Most High over all the earth.—Ps. 83:18.
Some years ago, a woman was deeply disturbed by a tragedy that occurred in her neighborhood. Born into a Roman Catholic family, she went to the local priest for help, but he was unwilling even to speak with her. So she prayed to God: “I don’t know who you are . . . , but I know you’re there. Please let me know you!” A short while later, Jehovah’s Witnesses visited her and gave her the comfort and knowledge she had sought. Among many other things, they taught her that God has a personal name, Jehovah. Learning that was a very emotional experience for her. “Imagine,” she said, “this was the God I had longed to know since I was a child!” Many have had a similar experience. Often, they first saw Jehovah’s name when they read Psalm 83:18 in the Bible
