Los malhechores mismos serán cortados, pero los que esperan en Jehová son los que poseerán la tierra (Sal. 37:9).
Para que esta promesa llegue a cumplirse, debe desaparecer este mundo con sus divisivos sistemas políticos, religiosos y económicos. Y de eso precisamente se encargará el Reino de Dios. El profeta Daniel predijo por inspiración: “En los días de aquellos reyes [los gobiernos actuales] el Dios del cielo establecerá un reino [celestial] que nunca será reducido a ruinas. Y el reino mismo no será pasado a ningún otro pueblo. Triturará y pondrá fin a todos estos reinos, y él mismo subsistirá hasta tiempos indefinidos” (Dan. 2:44). Entonces habrá “nuevos cielos” (el nuevo gobierno celestial de Dios) que reinarán sobre “una nueva tierra” (la nueva sociedad terrestre), y “en estos la justicia habrá de morar” (2 Ped. 3:13).

Evildoers themselves will be cut off, but those hoping in Jehovah are the ones that will possess the earth.—Ps. 37:9.
For this to happen, the present system of things with its conflicting governments, religions, and commercial systems will have to be removed. And that is exactly what the heavenly government will do. The prophet Daniel was inspired to foretell: “In the days of those kings [now existing] the God of heaven will set up a kingdom [in heaven] that will never be brought to ruin. And the kingdom itself will not be passed on to any other people. It will crush and put an end to all these [present] kingdoms, and it itself will stand to times indefinite.” (Dan. 2:44) God’s Kingdom—a new heavenly government—will then rule over a new earthly society. There will be “new heavens and a new earth . . . , and in these righteousness is to dwell.”—2 Pet. 3:13.
