El alimento sólido pertenece a personas maduras, a los que mediante el uso tienen sus facultades perceptivas entrenadas para distinguir tanto lo correcto como lo incorrecto (Heb. 5:14).
Nuestro objetivo no debe ser obedecer a Jehová mecánicamente, sino obedecerlo porque somos capaces de distinguir lo que está bien de lo que está mal basándonos en sus normas. Nuestro objetivo es comprender lo sabias que son las instrucciones de Dios para poder decir, como el salmista: “Tu ley está dentro de mis entrañas” (Sal. 40:8). Para valorar las leyes divinas tanto como el salmista, tenemos que meditar sobre lo que leemos en la Biblia. Por ejemplo, cuando aprendemos lo que Jehová nos pide sobre algún asunto, podríamos preguntarnos: “¿Por qué es sabio este mandato o principio? ¿Por qué es lo mejor para mí obedecerlo? ¿Qué consecuencias sufren quienes lo pasan por alto?”. De este modo educaremos nuestra conciencia según las normas divinas y, como resultado, habrá más probabilidades de que tomemos decisiones que agraden a Dios.

Solid food belongs to mature people, to those who through use have their perceptive powers trained to distinguish both right and wrong.—Heb. 5:14.
Our goal is not to obey God’s laws in a mechanical fashion; rather, we want to be able to “distinguish both right and wrong” based on Jehovah’s standards. We want to see the wisdom of Jehovah’s ways, so that we can say as did the psalmist: “Your law is within my inward parts.” (Ps. 40:8) To appreciate God’s laws as the psalmist did, we need to meditate on what we read in the Bible. For example, when we learn about a certain requirement of Jehovah, we might ask: ‘Why is this command or principle wise? Why is it in my best interests to obey? What bad consequences have befallen those who have ignored God’s counsel in this matter?’ When our conscience is thus attuned to Jehovah’s ways, we are more likely to make decisions that are in harmony with his will.
