Siguieron investigando (1 Ped. 1:11).
En el capítulo 11 de Hebreos, Pablo hace una disertación magistral sobre el tema de la fe. El apóstol presenta una definición concisa de esta cualidad, así como una lista de hombres y mujeres de fe de la talla de Noé, Abrahán, Sara y Rahab. Fue en este contexto en el que animó a sus hermanos a mirar “atentamente al Agente Principal y Perfeccionador de nuestra fe, Jesús”. ¿Por qué debían hacerlo? Pues bien, los hombres y mujeres fieles de quienes se habla en ese capítulo confiaban plenamente en las promesas de Dios. Sin embargo, no conocían todos los detalles sobre la manera en que se cumplirían tales promesas mediante el Mesías y el Reino. En ese sentido, su fe era incompleta, imperfecta. Ni siquiera los hombres a quienes Dios empleó para poner por escrito las profecías mesiánicas entendieron del todo la trascendencia de lo que escribieron. En cambio, nosotros hemos visto el cumplimiento de la mayoría de las profecías que hablan de Jesús, y eso perfecciona nuestra fe, o la hace más completa. Por eso se puede decir que Jesús es el “Agente Principal y Perfeccionador de nuestra fe”. ¡Qué importante es que entendamos bien y valoremos ese papel que él desempeña! (Heb. 12:1, 2.)

They kept on investigating.—1 Pet. 1:11.
In Hebrews chapter 11, we find Paul’s masterful discussion of faith, which includes a concise definition and a list of such exemplary men and women of faith as Noah, Abraham, Sarah, and Rahab. With all of this in mind, Paul urged his fellow Christians to “look intently at the Chief Agent and Perfecter of our faith, Jesus.” Why? Although those faithful men and women listed in Hebrews chapter 11 had strong faith in God’s promise, they did not know all the details of how God would fulfill his promise through the Messiah and the Kingdom. In that sense, their faith was incomplete. In fact, even those who were used by Jehovah to pen the many Messianic prophecies did not fully grasp the import of what they wrote. Only through Jesus can faith be perfected, or made complete. How essential that we clearly understand and recognize Jesus’ role as “the Chief Agent and Perfecter of our faith”!—Heb. 12:1, 2.
