We are preaching . . . Christ Jesus as Lord.—2 Cor. 4:5.
In the Bible, the title “Christ” is used with reference to Jesus in various ways, such as Jesus Christ, Christ Jesus, and the Christ. Jesus himself first used the term “Jesus Christ”—the name followed by the title. (John 17:3) This usage clearly draws attention to the one who was sent forth by God and became his Anointed One. When the title is placed ahead of the name, as in “Christ Jesus,” the emphasis shifts from the person to the position, or office, held by him. Using the expression “the Christ,” the title preceded by the definite article, is another way to emphasize Jesus’ office as the Messiah. (Acts 5:42) Regardless of how the title “Christ” is used with reference to Jesus, it highlights that Jesus was the Anointed One of Jehovah.
Examining the Bible Scriptures Daily, Such instructions gave Jesus ‘the tongue of the taught ones’ so that he would ‘know how to answer the tired one with a word.’ (Isa. 30:20; 50:4; Matt. 11:28-30) Being awakened to timely counsel from the Word of God each morning will not only help you to cope with your own problems but also equip you with ‘the tongue of the taught ones’ to help others.”
