Dios no es parcial, sino que, en toda nación, el que le teme y obra justicia le es acepto (Hech. 10:34, 35).
Jesús mostró a sus discípulos que Dios no favorece ninguna raza o nación (Juan 4:5-26). Por lo tanto, debemos ver a toda la gente como nuestro prójimo y tratar a todos con amor, incluso a quienes están en nuestra contra (Mat. 5:43-45). Ahora bien, ¿a qué se refería Pablo cuando dijo: “Hable verdad cada uno [...] con su prójimo”? (Efe. 4:25.) Decir la verdad es presentar los hechos tal como son, sin el afán de engañar. Los cristianos verdaderos no distorsionamos la verdad para que los demás lleguen a conclusiones erróneas. Más bien, obedecemos esta exhortación: “Aborrezcan lo que es inicuo; adhiéranse a lo que es bueno” (Rom. 12:9). Como queremos imitar al “Dios de la verdad”, nos esforzamos por ser honrados en todo lo que decimos y hacemos (Sal. 15:1, 2; 31:5). Si medimos con cuidado nuestras palabras, podremos resolver cualquier situación, por incómoda que sea, sin necesidad de recurrir a engaños (Col. 3:9, 10).

God is not partial, but in every nation the man that fears him and works righteousness is acceptable to him.—Acts 10:34, 35.
Jesus showed his disciples that God does not favor one race or nationality over another. (John 4:5-26) We, therefore, should regard all people as our neighbor, extending love even to those who act like enemies. (Matt. 5:43-45) Yet, what did Paul mean when he said that we should speak truth with our neighbor? (Eph. 4:25) Speaking truth involves sharing information that is factual, free from any deceit. True Christians do not twist or misrepresent the facts so as to mislead others. They “abhor what is wicked” and “cling to what is good.” (Rom. 12:9) In imitation of “the God of truth,” we should strive to be honest and forthright in all our dealings. (Ps. 15:1, 2; 31:5) By choosing our words carefully, even embarrassing or uncomfortable situations can be tactfully resolved without resorting to guile.—Col. 3:9, 10.
