Toma tu vara y extiende tu mano sobre las aguas de Egipto, sobre sus ríos, sobre sus canales del Nilo y sobre sus estanques llenos de cañas y sobre todas sus aguas represadas, para que se conviertan en sangre (Éxo. 7:19).
Tanto Moisés como Jesús realizaron milagros, demostrando así que contaban con el apoyo de Jehová. Según las Escrituras, Moisés fue el primer ser humano que tuvo esta facultad (Éxo. 4:1-9). Y varios de sus milagros tuvieron que ver con el agua. Por ejemplo, con el poder de Jehová logró que las aguas del Nilo y de sus estanques se convirtieran en sangre, que el mar Rojo se dividiera en dos y que saliera agua de una roca en el desierto (Éxo. 14:21; 17:5-7). Jesús también efectuó varios milagros relacionados con el agua. De hecho, su primer milagro consistió en convertir agua en vino durante una boda (Juan 2:1-11). Además, calmó el agitado mar de Galilea e incluso caminó sobre el agua (Mat. 8:23-27; 14:23-25).

Take your rod and stretch your hand out over the waters of Egypt, over their rivers, over their Nile canals and over their reedy pools and over all their impounded waters, that they may become blood.—Ex. 7:19.
Both Moses and Jesus performed miracles, thus demonstrating that they had Jehovah’s backing. Indeed, Moses was the first human on record to perform miracles. (Ex. 4:1-9) For example, Moses performed miracles involving water when at his command the waters of the Nile and its reedy pools became blood, the Red Sea was parted, and water came gushing out of rock in the desert. (Ex. 14:21; 17:5-7) Jesus too performed miracles involving water. His very first miracle was that of turning water into wine at a wedding feast. (John 2:1-11) Later, he calmed the turbulent Sea of Galilee. And on one occasion, he even walked on water!—Matt. 8:23-27; 14:23-25.
